Sad but true...I'm no longer the Top Soup Chef

There's a new Two Peas in town, and there's lots of uproar over the changes. I miss the "old" Two Peas, but like all things that change, I'm sure I'll get used to it over time. It's a place where I feel at home. I've been hanging out there since July of 2001.

The site was down for quite a lot of hours during the transition, and when I logged on and saw that the whole look was changed, the first thing I discovered was that the Pea Soup appeared to be gone. I eventually found it, in a roundabout way, but to my [pathetic] dismay, the Top Soup Chefs are no longer listed.

I remember a few years back when my name first appeared at the bottom of that Top Soup Chef list I got a little thrill. And then it became a challenge to become the number one Top Soup Chef--and I made it. I even remember a lady named MaryAnn and I were in a sort of race. One day, she'd be the top chef. Then I'd submit a bunch more quotes and I'd show up at the top. Next time I logged on, there would be MaryAnn's name at the top. I guess she eventually gave up because my name had been up there next to that little bowl of soup for quite a while. My lame claim to fame. Ha!

Anyway, I made a layout today to memorialize my reign as the Two Peas Top Soup Chef:

Is Marci Psychic? Another Birthday Surprise...

So last Saturday morning, as I was putting on my makeup, I was looking forward to the new challenge on the How Much Is Too Much? blog. And that got me to thinking how fun it would be to come up with those cool challenges. I even had a few ideas rolling around in my head and comtemplated e-mailing some of the HMITM girls with my ideas.

20 minutes later, I opened my e-mail box to find an e-mail from Marci Lambert titled "a little birthday surprise." Surprise was definitely THE perfect title for that e-mail. I was totally surprised and beyond thrilled to open this e-mail and discover that Marci was inviting me to join the HMITM team!

I'm a big fan of challenges, and HMITM is probably my all-time favorite one. This challenge stretches my creativity. And they're often a HUGE challenge since I scrap 8 x 8, so it's hard to fit a lot of stuff on there. Plus, I get to use a lot of my stash! Here are a few of my layouts that have sprouted from these cool challenges:

Challenge #50: 20/20 - Use 20 different things and 20 of the same thing:

Challenge #47 - Title and/or journaling on a main photo. 4 patterned papers. 7 flowers.

Challenge #43 - Nothing New: 20 pieces of patterned paper, 20 ribbons, 20 embellishments (all have to be over 1 year old):

Challenge #45 - Would You Like to Buy a Vowel?: A - use a single piece of patterned paper. E - use eight types of embellishments. I - journal in the first person ("I am a person who..."). O - OMG! reveal something about yourself. U - yep, you are the subject of this layout:

Challenge #25 - Exactly 100 (aka Marci's EVIL challenge): Use exactly 100 things (excluding papers and photos):

Birthday Surprise...The Found Book

Last weekend, I made this scrapbook page for my Scrap Your Childhood Challenge over on Two Peas:

Well, Farzad saw this layout and apparently took it as a hint--which, by the way, it TOTALLY wasn't--and to my surprise and delight, this was in a big bag of birthday presents on Friday:

I have the most thoughtful husband in the world. He spoils me, plain and simple.

Here I go...

So, I guess I'm finally entering the 21st century by starting this blog. Here I go...
