Top Ten of 2009

I can't believe how fast this year (and this decade) has flown by! Here are, in no particular order, my ten favorite pages I made this year:
1. I chose this one because I just love the colors and the fun photo and that I was able to use a bling crown and I worked really hard making those flowers:

2. I chose this one because it was really fun to make and I used one of my kits that I always hoard. I love those chipboard numbers!
3. This one was an assignment for BHG Scrapbooks Etc., and even though they made me re-do it because they thought the swirls were distracting and didn't like the colors, those were the things I liked best. I thought the swirls were really festive, and I used a color wheel to choose the chartreuse to coordinate with my mom's and my outfits. (I did like the one I remade that they published, but I still like this one better!):

4. I like the design on this one, and I like that I combined old and new stash:

5. I chose this one because I really like the colors and the way I did the type and that I used all scraps to make it:

6. I like this one because I finally used that giant Hambly rub-on tree, and I like the title on the labels:

7. I love this page because of the photo and the memories. I also love it because it was my turn to choose the colors for Color Combos Galore, and I think I did a great job with the colors!

8. This is one of my favorite pages and it's a scraplift of my layout My Miata. I don't take very good pictures, but I really like this photograph!

9. This is one of my favorites because I thought I had lost this photograph and searched for it for a year. Sultry is one of my all-time favorite BasicGrey collections, so I was happy to use it here. I also like how I added those stamped, embossed stems to the flowers:

10. And last, but not least, I like this page because of the fun mix of stuff I used:

I've Been a Little Misty

For a while I've been admiring all the layouts people are doing with the mists that are all the rage right now, but I can sometimes be a lazy scrapper and stay in my little comfort box.

Well, I recently had the opportunity to play with the Memories Mists by Stewart Superior (scroll down to the bottom of this link to see all the cool colors available), and I'm so glad I stepped out of my box! This stuff is really cool, and the colors are so vibrant and saturated. And, even more important for the lazy scrapper in me--they're really easy to use.

We're spotlighting Stewart Superior at Scrapbook News & Review this Friday, January 1, so I hope you'll come visit us to see what the staff did with these cool products. Here's a peek at the two projects I made with the Memories Mists:

Christmas Carnival

I made another layout for the Kaisercraft manufacturer spotlight at Scrapbook News & Review, which will happen on Wednesday, December 30. I am loving their Christmas Carnival collection--such fun colors. Here are some peeks at the layout I just made:

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This weekend, we had the biggest December snowstorm our area has ever had in recorded history, and the sparkly snow is so pretty and has given me an early winter break!

Yes, it truly looks like Christmas outside my window.

Inside...Not so much. We procrastinated decorating our 12-foot-tall tree and now it's buried in the snow (well, the shed where it's stored is buried). So I guess this year we'll be treeless. Oh, well--something interesting to scrap about!

But at least inside my scrap room it looks like Christmas. I've been working on some projects for upcoming manufacturer spotlights at Scrapbook News & Review. I got a chance to work with the new Christmas Mint Collection by SEI and Kaisercraft's new Christmas Carnival collection. Both collections are just beautiful. Here are some peeks at projects I made for these events.

SEI will be highlighted on Tuesday, December 29.

The Kaisercraft spotlight will happen on Wednesday, December 30.
