French Kiss Is Live!

I shared in my last post that I am the February Guest Designer for Scrap for a Cure, and their February kit, "French Kiss," has been revealed, so now I can share the layouts I made with this beautiful kit! (If you'd like to see some detail shots of these layouts, you can scroll down to the previous post, where I posted my peeks.)

The kit features a beautiful range of papers from 7 Gypsies, Basic Grey, and SEI, including some specialty die-cut, foil, glitter, and lace papers. And the assortment of embellishments is just wonderful!

Here is my first layout. I used the exquisite ruffled ribbon from Webster's Pages to make the flower. I painted the green fabric Thickers with red paint--so easy, and the fabric really took the paint well. I love the embroidered canvas tag from Prima, designed by Donna Downy--there are three of these beauties int he kit. You can also see the pretty Pink Paislee pebble brads and rub-ons in this layout as well as the cool Ormulu Love song paper chain from Etsy that were included in the kit. Everything on this layout came from the kit except for the red paint I used on the letters and some black and cream cardstock. There was also a sheet of Collage Press journaling cards--love those things! This layout was inspired by a sketch from Creative Scrappers.

Here is my next layout. I included a detail photo of this one because the scan doesn't show how beautiful the gray/silver SEI paper is. This layout shows off the beautiful SEI lace cardstock. I sprayed it with the Shimmerz that was included in the kit. Scrap for a Cure also included some cherry-colored stamp ink, which I used on this layout, too. And don't you just love that pretty doily? There are two in the kit! I also loved the cool flower-shaped sequins from Papier Valise. So many wonderful, unique bits and pieces in this kit!

And here is a third layout I made. I found this kit to be very versatile. It's perfect for romantic pages, like the first one I shared, but it also worked well for this summery layout because of the yellows and greens incldued. Again, I spritzed the lace cardstock trim with the Shimmerz included int he kit. I love the handful of glimmery buttons I received and the shimmery soft 7 gypsies ribbons. Another unique addition to the kit is the physicians ledger sheet from Papier Valise that I used as a backdrop for my journaling. The kit also came with a bunch of Jenni Bowlin memo notebook sheets. And did I mention that I adore those Thickers? There are so many letters in that package. I used them for all of my layouts and still have lots more letters left.

I tell you, this kit is just packed with so many beautiful details, and I've only scratched the surface here. I will share some more later, but I hope I gave a good taste of what's in the French Kiss kit.

I'm the February Guest Designer for Scrap for a Cure!

I was so excited when I was invited to be a guest designer for Scrap for a Cure! Their February kit is just full of beautiful and interesting goodies that are perfect for Valentine's Day layouts, but also for a scrapbooking a whole range of topics. Here are some peeks at the layouts I created with this wonderful kit. I think I may have overdone it with my sneaks, but there was just too much packed into that kit--and believe me these peeks only show a small portion of what's in the kit!

We're Back, Too!

We took at holiday break at Sketch This!, too, but we're back. I always love working with Janelle's sketches--they're so versatile. Here's my take on sketch 96. It's for a book I'm making with pictures of my silly husband hamming it up for the camera.

And here's the sketch Janelle sent us:

We're Back!

We took a little holiday break at Color Combos Galore, but we're back. I just love this combo!

And here's the page I made with these colors. I punched all those holes by hand on the scalloped paper.
