Some happy news!

Anyone who knows me knows I love a challenge, and I recently applied to be on the design team for a new challenge blog called Scrap Yourself. I'm happy to report that I was chosen to be on the team! I think it's going to be a perfect fit for me since I love to tell stories on my pages.

Scrap Yourself will post challenges every week that invite you to scrap about yourself. We have lots of interesting prompts and ideas in store. We have two teams, so I will be contributing layouts every other week. The first challenge will be posted on May 5. I'm on Team B, so my reveal will be posted on May 12. I hope my friends will play along!

How Much Is Too Much?

I found this old photo in my stash and it brought back so many memories of when we used to go to the Renaissance Festival every fall. I'm not sure why we stopped going. So much fun stepping back in time, wandering through the medieval village built in the woods. Note to self: renew this yearly ritual.

So, I made a layout for How Much Is Too Much?. Debi's challenge for us was called "It's Fontastic!" and we had to use least 2 different fonts in our title; add some sort of fabric or stitching; and use some sort of bling or pearls.

I have so many packages of these tiny letter stickers, and I always forget to use them, so I was happy for this challenge that got me to add them to my title. I used crepe paper, which sort of looks like fabric, and I did lots of stitching on this--I stitched the ribbon, machine stitched the crepe paper and polka dot paper, and I hand-sewed the pearl beads onto my page.

Check out this cool video I stumbled upon. Just makes me want to put on my dancing shoes and get funky! And speaking of shoes, where can I get me some of those cool black and white shoes?

I'm On Cloud 9

It's spring break, so I'm officially on Cloud 9! So nice to wake up and have the whole day to play. I don't sleep in because I don't want to waste my day with my eyes closed. The past few days, I've been waking up at 4:00 a.m. I love having a couple extra hours to ease into the day.

In honor of spring break, I called my challenge at How Much Is Too Much? "Cloud 9," and I'm challening players to use clouds plus 9 different embellishments on a layout.

I used the April Noel Mignon kit called "Sonoma County" to make my page. Such awesome colors and lots of goodies in the kit. I recently got a Cuttlebug when they were on sale at Jo-Ann, and used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the clouds. So fun! I just love this picture of my nephew and me, taken a couple of months ago:
