Dream Come True (Stuck?! Sketches December 15 Challenge}

Laura created a fabulous new sketch for us over at Stuck?! Sketches. Be sure to hop over and see what the rest of the team created. Here's the sketch:

I was driving the school the other day, and I had the idea of making scrapbook pages for my students. I took selfies and plan to give them each a page with a little easel as a keepsake. (Yes, I got parents' permission to post these.) Here's my first page. On my scrap table was a recently purchased Crate Paper Cute Girl chipboard sheet, and I saw that banner and figured that would be a perfect starting point for this layout, given the banner in the sketch.

Here are some details. All the chipboard pieces are from the crate Paper Cute Girl collection. I found a little sparkly bird in my stash, also by Crate Paper (an old collection) and added a dot for the eye and a little puffy sticker heart.

The paper in the background is by Bo Bunny. That pink label is super-duper old, by Making Memories. It's a little bit sparkly, even though the glitter doesn't show up in the picture. I used Headline rub-ons for the lettering. The flower under the flair badge is also by Making Memories, and the magenta sparkly pink-edged circle is part of one of those brads that has a die-cut piece behind it in the sets you buy. I almost never use them and took them off when I color-sorted all my brads (you can see that gargantuan project in this post). and tossed it into my pink embellishment drawer (you can see those drawers in this post). I topped it with a badge from A Flair for Buttons.

The little slide thingies that I tucked in at the bottom were cut out of another Crate Paper paper from the Hello Love collection. I thought the colors went perfectly with the Cute Girl collection. Not sure where that Practically Perfect piece came from--it was in my pink drawer. That bright pink paper is by BasicGrey, and the teal paper is an old My Mind's Eye paper.

You'll want to play with us this month. Not only is this a super-fun sketch, but we have some great prizes donated from our sponsors, The ScrapRoom (a $20 gift certificate) and ScrapMatts (2 large pieces of their beautiful chipboard).

It's so pretty! and great idea too. When I finished kindergarten our teacher made album for each kid - with our drawings and a cover she made herself. I still have that album and love it. It's going to be good memory for many of your pupils, I think.

Your children are so lucky to have you teach them; not just the three R's, but things like affirming the goodness in people, creating memories and creating pretty keepsakes, just because they are special to you. A beautiful, soft and pretty page.
