Color Combos Galore 165 + How Much Is Too Much 153 = One Fun Layout!

So, due to my clumsy accident and having to keep my foot elevated, I had to compress my scrappy time last weekend, so I decided to combine the challenges for Color Combos Galore and How Much Is Too Much. Amanda came up with a really fun challenge for us this week at HMITM, called The Office. We had to use on our layouts:

- 10 staples (plain or colored)
- 3 paperclips (plain or decorative)
- ruled/graph paper
- some kind of tape (or decorative tape)
- some kind of office stickers/labels/flags/post-it notes
- pen or markers/highlighters
- hole punch (or decorative punch)
- use numbers somewhere on your layout
- and finally, some kind of typing (in your title, or journaling)

And here is the Inspiration Board I made up for this week's challenge at CCG:

I decided the HMITM challenge was the perfect opportunity to profess my love for The Office. I used the Noel Mignon kit called Office Party to make this page:

Our CCG Designer's Challenge was to use distressing. I am SO distressing challenged, but I gave it a shot. I totally screwed up on the part showed in the detail photo below. I wanted to tear a little piece out of the top to let some of the yellow paper peek through and wound up tearing the paper practically in half! That's when I knew I had to hide the tear with those kraft journaling cards. I added some old 7 Gypsies clippy thingies (yes, that's the official terminology for that product) for the clip part of the challenge.

I found these The Office magnets at the Target Dollar Spot a couple of years ago--before I even knew about the show--and thought they'd be good for scrapbooking. And there they sat in my stash. Until now... (If you watch the show, you know what "Diversity Day" and "That's what she said" are all about! If you don't, you MUST go rent Season 1 and watch--you'll be hooked from the very first episode!)

I love this Tim Holtz ruler ribbon. A perfect border for my layout, and it allowed me to use the staples for that part of the challenge. I tucked in one of the stick pins, which has a clippy thing on top, to meet the paper clips part of the challenge. The brads topping the stars are really old Autumn Leaves brads from the Dad's Tie collection, I think.

I had a lot of fun making this layout. I hope you'll join me in these challenges and take a look at what the rest of the CCG and HMITM teams did with these challenges!

I love this LO!!! What a great idea to document your love for this amazing show. Loving all the distressing here and layering. How amazing that you had those magnets! They are the perfect touch. I was hooked on this show in Season 1 when Phylis got the award for "The Busiest Beaver" but it didn't quite read that way! LOL
