She Sparkles {CSI Case File No. 124}

A new Case File is open for investigation at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

I found the perfect picture to go with this Case File. It's sweet little Ezra, my best friend's Michele's grandbaby, and I made this page for Michele for her birthday last weekend.

Clues I used...Evidence: butterflies, glitter, flowers, rub-ons, stamps, wings, stars, watercolor (sort of), tiny brads. Testimony: Inspiration Words - Sparkle (I tucked a tag behind the layers for Michel to journal about Ezra).

I used the current Sketchabilities sketch for my page design.

Here are some details. I tried to do a watercolor effect on my page. I first tried using a paintbrush, but I ruined a piece of paper, and anyone who knows me knows I hate wasting a good sheet of paper! So instead, I tried a different approach. I sprayed spray ink and a little water, dabbed some plastic wrap over it and smushed it onto my paper. Then I used a Bo Bunny distress stamp with plum ink. You can't see very well, but I had these teeny-tiny star sequins that I scattered up the middle of the page.

I had fun using some really old papers for my page. Papers I used were by Making Memories (orange papers); Die Cuts With a View (purple floral), BasicGrey (plum); Crate Paper (purple/pink butterfly); Lasting Impressions (pink polka dots).

I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the frames.

How lucky was I to find a purple and orange K&Co. butterfly in my stash? I added some extra glitter in the form of Stickles, and those tiny brads are really old, by Queen and Co.

I wanted to add a little something extra on the left side, and these little chipboard hearts by 2Crafty were the perfect thing. I coated them with gesso and added lots of Stickles to make them extra sparkly.

The reveal this week is so pretty--you have to go see it, and be sure to play as this is what's up for grabs for this Case File from our sponsor this month, Flying Unicorn:

Debbi this is beautiful and quite unlike your normal style... I love the water colour effect. I also hate to waste paper and always feel this if it doesn't work out the way I want. Love your take on the sketchabilities sketch. You rocked this one. I have missed CSI while I have been away. Good to be back and playing again :D
