2Crafty Design Team Work for December

It's my turn to share my December work at the 2Crafty Blog.

"Merry & Bright"

That's my mom and my step-dad, who passed away last Christmas.
I've been working on a scrapbook for my mom, and gave this page to her,
along with some others I recently made, for Christmas.
I had this idea of hanging ornaments from the top of the page.
2Crafty has a lovely assortment of Christmas ornaments and baubles,
but I didn't have any, so I had to get creative.
I found the perfect 2Crafty pieces to create ornaments.
The chain length borders were a perfect way to hang the baubles I created.
I used platinum embossing powder to give the chains some shine.
I added a Mini Reindeer to a Word Circle to give it a Christmas feel.
I wanted my page to sparkle and shine, so I used glitter and embossing powder
with a glitter finish on all the chipboard pieces.

A glittered Heart Silhouette with a "Noel" from the Christmas Mini Word Pack
transformed a heart into a Christmas ornament.

The "Merry" in my title is also from the Christmas Mini Word Pack
The lovely gold scrollwork on the sides of my pictures were cut from
the Parisian Border--one of my absolute favorite 2Crafty pieces.

"Hello Wonder"

I flipped seasons and made a summery layout
featuring a picture of my adorable nephew holding a praying mantis.

I just love using 2Crafty's Circle Words as part of a title.
I coated mine with white embossing powder.

How cool is this Hessian Patch Panel? I chose this piece to mimic
the stick-like shape of the insect.
It adds such awesome texture and is perfect layered
underneath other elements.
I left mine raw to give it an outdoorsy feel.

I love the fun whimsy of this arrow from the Funky Arrows set.
I coated mine with orange embossing powder.

How sweet and lovely are the cursive Mini Words
Because they're so thin and delicate, they're perfect for layering over a photograph.

I used part of a Polaroid Frame as an additional layer.
Cutting just enough from a chipboard piece to peek out
of the layers enables you to use the rest of it on another layout.
I inked it and then added some Heidi Swapp Color Shine to give it a shimmer.

"Friends"

I made this page for my niece-in-law.
I used Case File No. 141 from CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

One of the Evidence clues was to use Glossy Accents,
and that's how I made the branch from Heidi's Vines so shiny.
First, I painted the piece green and then added the Glossy Accents.
I cut the vine in half to make it extend from one end of the
picture to the other.

Wow Debbi you used the 2 Crafty chipboard to perfection on these pages and showed just how versatile they can be dressed or left raw. Beautiful work.
