Sparkle {Clique Kits December Challenge}

I'm on winter break, and it's so nice to have a bit of extra time to create layouts just for the fun of it (not that creating layouts for DT commitments aren't fun, but I mean I'm not under any kind of time pressure). Anyway, Tracee and I were looking for a fun challenge to try, and we came across the December Challenge at Clique Kits, which features this sketch:

Here's my interpretation of this challenge. I was looking at that diamond shape in the background and thought, why not make it a gem diamond? And I found that I already owned a cut file for my Silhouette Cameo, so that was perfect. I sort of flipped the sketch, but hopefully you can see the sketch in my page.

Here are some details. I used papers from My Mind's Eye On Trend 2 collection to back the facets of the diamond. You can't tell from the photo (it's so hard photographing shiny things), but that little clear sticker is gold foiled. The enamel dots are also sparkly gold. I also found some glittery gold Heidi Swapp reinforcements in my stash. I used watercolor paints and the packaging technique to add splashes to the background.

This shiny chipboard title is from Simple Story's Posh collection. The little glittery arrow is by MAMBI. I blended out my student's name, in case you're wondering. I'm making scrapbook pages for each of my students.

Here are two more gold-foiled chipboard pieces from the Posh Collection and a glittery MAMBI heart.

Finally, a glittery gold Heidi Swapp frame.
