Document Your Magic | Paper Issues Pinspire Me

It's my turn on the Paper Issues blog today.  Every morning I walk, and I look for one interesting thing. This bird's nest was so beautiful to me that I shared the picture on Facebook, and my friend Jacynthe Loubier said that I should scrap it, and it just so happened that I had this Paper Issues Pinspire Me assignment, and it was absolutely perfect for the challenge.

Happy Saturday, everyone! I'm so excited that I got picked to make a layout for this month's Pinspire Me challenge, and I was TOTALLY pinspired!

Check out the GORGEOUS Pinboard that inspired my layout:

No photo description available.

All the green made me think of using some of the scraps of green paper in my stash, and the best way I could think of doing that was to use a cut file. I studied the pin board again and noticed those watermelon slices and remembered the "Slices of Life" free Paper Issues cut file.

I tried to use elements from each of the images in the pin board on my layout. The wood in the watermelon , floor, and thread spools inspired my use of the woodgrain paper and wood veneer pieces. The boots with all the leafy stems coming out of it inspired my use of a bunch of different leafy dies. The center image inspired my title. The word "magic" is from a Paper Issues free cut file called "Magic Unicorn Spring Crop Free Cut File."

The stack of books inspired me to add the text print patterned paper. Of course I had to add a bird, and because of the iridescent dragonfly image, I chose a bird from my stash that has a glittery belly. The watermelon and other images featuring red inspired the pops of red on my layout. The spools of thread inspired the tangled thread on my page.

The ladybugs inspired the little polka dot metal dots, the shiny watermelon seeds and shiny bodies of the ladybugs inspired the use of enamel hearts, and the stacked books inspired the position of the stacked word stickers.

I hope you'll play along. A Pinspire Me challenge is the perfect opportunity for digging through your stash. I'm sure you've got lots of green paper. Head over to Paper Issues and check out all the free cut files for a fun and beautiful way to use those scraps. Be sure to add your creation to our Facebook group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the shop. And speaking of the shop--there's so much fun new stuff. Please use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), an you'll get 20% off your entire purchase!

There is SO much inspiration in this pin board. I can't wait to see how YOU are pinspired!

I could not agree more with AllisonLP. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to watch your creating process. I'm sure we're not the only ones who would appreciate your doing so.

I absolutely love this layout. The cut file with those green pattern papers catches the eye right away. I love all the branches and bits of thread sticking out from under the photo block. The little bird perched on top is simply perfect, and I love the way you did the journaling at the bottom of the page. I also really enjoyed reading through how you've interpreted all the images from the Pinboard onto your layout. Beautiful work. One of my favorites for sure. TFS.♥♥♥

You ladies are too, too kind! I would love to do this, but I take like a whole day to work on a layout. I wouldn't even know how to record and edit that!
