This Little Piggy | CSI Cold Case No. 293

I love our Cold Cases at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. They're designed to dig deep into our stash and use up some of our old stuff, which I love doing! Here's my page for our August Cold Case:

Here are the Cold Case File and clues:

I used several of the product clues. I started with Magic #9, where I counted the 9th paper pad in one of my boxes, and it turned out the Simple Stories I Am pad had a lot of the colors in the Case File, so that was another clue, and I added kraft paper.  Another clue I used was to use those cut-apart cards. That's where the ampersand and the "oh, so cute" ribbon came from. I naturally had to dig through my stash to find some pigs, and I had several in my puffy sticker drawer. This met the "cute" stuff clue.

The speech bubble below is actually a new stamp I got from France (my husband went to Paris last month, and so I ordered some stuff from the French shops), so it's not old but it's a never used stamp, which is one of the clues. I colored in the Ha Ha's with my Nuvo markers. The While You were Out and the Yippee are from cut-apart sheets.

You can see some more cut-apart sheet items in the photo below. I also added googly eyes to my title, which was an additional clue.

Still more cut-aparts on the picture below.

I found inspiration for my page design on Pinterest, and I thought I had pinned it, but I cannot find it now. The scrapper had added paper to the top and bottom and had a gap in the middle and then added the stitches. Her layout only had one photo that I believe was on the bottom half, if I remember correctly. My apologies for not giving proper credit, and if you know whose layout it was, please let me know. Anyway I thought the splitting the paper at the top and bottom was a perfect way for me to use 6 x 6 pads for my 8 x 8 pages, and I'm sure I'll try this again.

I hope you'll come play with us. It's a great challenge for using up your old stash. There are so many clues, so it's a really open-ended challenge--you don't even have to use these colors, and you can use as few or as many clues as you'd like, or even draw your own inspiration. Make sure you share in our Facebook group albums, and you could win a prize or gift certificate from one of our many generous sponsors this month:

That is a really neat page design. Like you said, splitting the papers to create two separate blocks, top and bottom, works really well on your 8 x 8 page. The little puffy pig stickers are super cute, and the googly eyes are just plain fun. TFS.
