Two | Paper Issues Adspiration Challenge

I'm up on the Paper Issues blog today! Here's my post:

Hey, everyone! I'm here to share a layout I created for this month's Adspiration challenge. Here's what I came up with:

And here's the ad that inspired my layout:

I knew immediately when I saw this ad that I wanted to make layered cake and a birthday layout, and I wanted to use the blue from the blueberries, so I checked to see if I had any birthday pictures that would go with blue, and I found one. Then, I went searching through my papers and came some papers by My Mind's Eye. One of the floral papers had these circular designs that reminded me of the blueberries, so I decided I'd fussy cut them and top my cake with blueberries.

I mimicked the gold cake topper with some glittery gold letters from my stash.

The melted frosting inspired me to add some vellum punched with a border punch on each of the layers.

Finally, the metal cake stand in the add inspired me to use some silver metallic papers I had in my stash. I added a lacy border-punched strip in white and some rhinestones for festive sparkle.

I made my own tiered cake but if you want an some awesome free cut files for a party-inspired layout, Paper Issues has one called Party Animal, which has cupcakes and a slice of cake, along with some titles and other elements.

I hope you'll give this add a try. Besides the obvious birthday layout, the possibilities are endless. I can't wait to see what you'll make! Be sure to add your creation in the November Adspiration album in our Facebook group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. And speaking of the store, there are tons of new goodies. Go check them out here. And please use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire order!
