I lifted Emilie Chamel's amazing layout. I fell in love with her layout the minute I saw it and wished I could scraplift it, and to my surprise and delight, Morag came up with the Scraplift Party idea! I just adore the cascading design spilling out of that torn paper, and the way she used those chevrons was so interesting and creative. I love her monochromatic page and I almost went monochromatic too, but I didn't want to copy too much.
Here are some details of my page. I looked through my papers in search of colors that would go with these beautiful pictures of my friend's daughter and came across a pad of flowers to cut out from Mintay Papers. Mintay Papers is a Polish company that I heard about from one of my scrapbooking idols, Emma Trout. The reddish-orange flowers matched pretty well, and I was originally thinking about trying to do a monochromatic layout like Emilie did, but then I noticed sh had purple in her shirt and noticed all the purple blossoms in the pad. I decided to add the yellow to the palette. I searched through my patterned papers and found a pretty good match for the top piece of paper--It's a super old paper by a now-defunct company called Scrapbook Boutique, I think.
I found a beautiful title piece by Bramble Fox. I just love that script font!
I don't have the Paige Evans chevron paper that Emilie used, though I have it on order, but I found a stamp in my stash that was the same shape and used different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks to replicate the ones Emilie used.
Here's another detail shot. I added in some word stickers from my stash, a heart Perspextive, some rhinestone brads and some Nuvo Drops. It was hard fitting everything on my 8 x 8 page, but I managed to get everything on that I wanted to use.
I hope you'll come play along. Submit your creations in our Bramble Fox Friends Facebook Group for a chance to win some prizes. Also, there's lots of brand-new stuff in the shop get a 15% discount this weekend!
