Worm Weather {Paper Issues This or That Challenge}

I'm up on the Paper Issues blog.

Here's my post: Good morning! Debbi here today with a layout I created for the This or That challenge.

For this challenge, you need to choose one thing or the other from each of the numbered elements below. The items I used are in bold print.

Use this or that but not both:
1. Doodling or paint
2. Enamel Dots or Mist
3. Tag or Label
4. Flair or Wood Veneer
5. Cardstock Stickers or Chipboard Stickers
6. Sewing (can be Faux) or Twine
7. Thickers or a Die Cut Title
8. Heart or Star
9. Silver or Gold
10. Bow or Doily

My friend had posted a video of her kids playing in the rain in their bathing suits, and the dialogue was so cute, I wanted to capture the moment for her on a layout.  I knew I wanted to use clouds because, you know, the rain...and I found this awesome free cut file from Paper Issues, Cloudy Circle, which was just perfect for holding this sweet story.

I started imagining my layout by noticing that the little girl's bathing suit looked like a rainbow and thinking about how you can make your own rainbow from rain, and that got me to thinking about the stripey paper in a past collection from Simple Stories called Sunshine and Happiness. When I started looking through that collection, the greenish paper sort of looked like rain, and the journaling card sort of reminded me of a movie marquis, hence the title. As I was searching through my Thickers, I came across the word "wonder," and I decided I could do a little surgery and create the word "worm." This foam word was originally white, and I used yellow watercolors to paint it.

This challenge was super fun, and I hope you'll play along! You have until July 1 to submit your layout to the Paper Issues Friends & Fans Facebook page, where there are TONS of fun challenges. Plus there's a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store!

Make sure you check out all the cool new products at the Paper Issues store, and if you use the code Debbi, you'll receive 20% off of your entire order. How amazing and generous is that!
