Cozy Days | Bramble Fox

Yesterday I was up on the Bramble Fox blog. Here's my post.

Hey, Bramble Fox fans! Today I'm sharing a layout using the November Fox Box Plus. You may have seen it in the FoxZine if you're a subscriber, but I thought I'd give some more details about how this layout came together--and don't worry if you didn't receive the Fox Box, all of the items I used on my page are now in the shop. I focused on the purples from the Fox Box to highlight the plums and purples in my photos, and complemented them with the oranges and golds of a classic autumn palette. The Cozy Days title and accompanying lantern are the star of the show here.

Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my layouts.

I started with the beautiful Fox Cut Stencil #50 | Skinny Chevron, adding color to the background as a backdrop for my photos, using two colors of Tim Holtz Distress ink and a blending brush. I searched my fall paper collections to see if I could find any that had purples, and I found The Four Seasons Autumn collection by P13, and I fussy-cut some of the florals from the papers. The "Noteworthy" label is from Paper Snips 014 | Cozy Autumn.

Stencils are such a great product to have in my stash--they can be used in so many ways! Besides using one stencil for a background, I used Fox Cut Stencil #47 | Leaves & Branches for embellishments. I used four different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink and a blending brush on scraps of white paper, added veins with a black fine-tip pen, and fussy cut them. Using my fingers to bend the edges gave the leaves a bit of dimension. The great part about using a stencil for embellishments is I can customize them with any colors to suit my layout, and a stencil will never be used up so I can make infinite layouts with one stencil! The rust fall phrase strips are from Paper Snips 014 | Cozy Days and the "autumn leaves" phrase is from Paper Snips 011 | Autumn.

How sweet is this lantern? You get several in the pack with the Cozy Days title Perspextive. I used yellow vellum behind the lantern and elevated it with adhesive foam. I placed one of the leaves partially behind the lantern so you could see that it is sheer. A piece of purple jute adds an extra texture and a lovely detail.

The matte finish on these Perspextives is so pretty, and I just adore the mix of fonts on this title piece. I fussy cut the "Autumn Days" from the Paper Snips 014 | Cozy Days as a subtitle, adding another shade of purple. And of course I couldn't forget to add a heart from the Hearts Special Edition pack to my page since I do that with all the pages I give away. A few Nuvo Drops around the embellishment clusters were a finishing touch, and when I finished, I felt like my page still needed something to tie it all together, and I searched my paper stash for a purple paper I could use to frame the whole page. This piece of paper from My Mind's Eye's Bohemia collection has been in my stash for eons and it was perfect here.

Even though winter is upon us, there are still so many beautiful pieces from the Autumn Collection still in the shop to scrap all those fall photos you took. I hope I've given you some ideas and inspiration for using them!

Autumn Glory | Bramble Fox

Yesterday I was up on the Bramble Fox blog. Here's my post.

Hey, Bramble Fox fans! Today I'm sharing a lovely autumn layout featuring the beautiful Autumn Glory pack, which comes with this beautiful title and a handful of leaves in different colors. Read on to see what other Bramble Fox products I used on my page. Please note that since I scrap 8 x 8, the products will look a bit larger on my layouts.

I started off my page by adding color to the background using the gorgeous Fox Cut Stencil #50 | Skinny Chevron and three colors of Distress Inks, applied with blending brushes. How beautiful is the script font and leafy detail on the Autumn Glory title piece?

I chose pinks and golds from the Harvest Market collection by Simple Stories to coordinate with my photos. I tore three patterned papers and rolled the edges, adding water to the edges, a tip I got from Julie Taylor. I found a pretty trim in my stash that matched the greenish leaves. The phrases are from Paper Snips 011 | Autumn. The shiny circular flairs were created with the Paper Snips and Epoxy Stickers.

Behind the photos, to add a little extra texture, I added a mesh chain-link fence from Fox Dies #4 | Barbed Wire.

Finally, I added a cluster to the bottom left using some torn paper, a Harvest Market sticker, elements from the Paper Snips, and a sweet heart Perspextive from the Warm Hearts Pack, and a couple of leaves from the Autumn Glory pack. How cute is that fox Epoxy flair from the Autumn Paper Snips, and the envelop with all the pretty florals, also from the same Paper Snips.

There are so many beautiful pieces to adorn your page in the Autumn Collection. Be sure to grab some if you haven't yet had a chance! And please me sure you tag us on Instagram and share your creations with us in the Bramble Fox Facebook Group.

Until Next time, have fun scrapping!

Thankful | CSI Case File No. 399

I made this layout for our second November challenge at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration.

Here are the Case File and clues. I was really inspired by the black buffalo plaid, the brick wall and all the pumpkins and leaves in The Scene. I also used the diagonal for the composition of my page.

I used the basic color scheme and used the inspiration word grateful (only I used a synonym, LOL), and I managed to cram every clue on my 8 x 8 page!

Here are some details. I had this beautiful acrylic title from Bramble Fox that sort of matched that first color in the Case File palette. I layered up the photo with some mesh and textured paper and some papers that matched the palette. I found those two fabric tabs from Scrapworks that have been sitting in my stash for eons.

Labels were a clue, and I found an orange one to cut in half and tuck behind my photos. Since gold was a clue, I added a gold paper clip. That cute acrylic owl is also from Bramble Fox.

One of the clues was bricks and I used a stencil by Bramble Fox, along with some stamp ink and a blending brush and then outlined the bricks to create my background. Plaid was also a clue. Some gold dots from Pinkfresh Studio also met the gold clue. You can't tell in the picture but that arrow is gold-foiled. Pins were another clue, and I found these wood-topped stick pins by Little Yellow Bicycle in my stash. I added an acrylic heart from Bramble Fox because I always add at least one heart to my pages I give away.  The pumpkins were another clue. They're fussy-cut from a Mintay Golden Days paper.

That wagon wheel was also fussy cut from a paper in the Mintay collection and serves as a circular element from the clues. How awesome that I had those plaid flowers with little gold beads in the center? Flowers were a clue too.

For the something transparent clue, I punched out leaves from two colors of vellum to give them a lovely sheer look. I used a stylus to draw veins in them and give them more dimension. I stuck a third pin in the wood barrel bucket that I fussy cut from a Mintay paper.

That was a LOT of clues, but I think they really worked well with this photo. I hope you'll come play with us for a chance to win a gift certificate or a guest designer spot!

Hey Pumpkin! | Paper Issues Free-File Free-for-All Challenge

I made this layout for Paper Issues' Free-File Free-for-All challenge back in October.

I used some distressed-looking paper in the background and then added stamps, watercolor, and gold mist to the background.

I used Paper Issues FREE Pumpkin Spice cut file and backed it with a really old plaid paper by My Mind's Eye that I thought went well with Simple Stories Fall Farmhouse collection. The letters are old Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas. I have so many I don't think I'll ever run out!

Some really cute die cuts in this collection! The bracketed words are really old rub-ons.

I always add at least one heart to the pages I give away. I finished off with some Nuvo drops.
