It's my turn to share at the 2Crafty blog today. I made three layouts using the fabulous 2Crafty chipboard.
"Unforgettable"

As you may know, my step-dad passed away last year,  and I've been making a book for my mom.  With Mother's Day coming up, I thought I'd make a couple more pages for her book.  2Crafty's script titles are so lovely and elegant,  and I found some other perfectly lovely, elegant pieces to use for my page. I sprayed the Unforgettable Title with Glimmer Mist (olive vine color) to give it a lovely  shimmer and added a piece of one of the Funky Heart Swirls to give the title a flourish-- the set comes with four pieces, so it will go far if you use pieces of it.

How beautiful is this Handrawn Heart Frame? 

Such a perfect element to frame a beautiful picture. 

I used the smaller of the two that comes in the set 

and sprayed it with a copper-colored Glimmer mist for shimmer.

At the top of my page I used a full piece from the Funky Heart Swirls Set.

"Hula Boys"

I went a completely different route for my mom's second page. 

For my sister's birthday, we had a luau-themed party, 

and of course the guys (my stepdad, my sister's husband, and my husband) 

decided to confiscate the coconut bras, leis, and hula skirts, 

which made for some hilarious photos. 

I wanted to give the page a fun, sort of cartoon feel. 

Of course, I had to use the awesome 2Crafty Palm Trees for this page. 

I have the Small Palm Tree Set because I scrap 8 x 8, 

but there are also some larger pieces. 

I have some really cool texture paste by Martha Stewart that's really chunky and textured, 

so I first coated the trees with gesso and then spread that texture paste on the fronds. 

I sprayed that with two shades of green mist. 

I used regular texture paste on the trunks and swiped three different browns 

on the trunks after the paste dried.

I used the Alpha Set 1 for the title. 

It's such a fun, playful font that's perfect for this page. 

I used lime green Zing embossing powder and then used a pen to outline the letters 

to give them that cartoon feel I was going for.

I painted a 2Crafty Polaroid Frame with white acrylic paint and outlined it with a black pen.

The little hearts are from the ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars. 

This is a great set to get because there are tons of them on the sheet--60 pieces! 

I colored the hearts with a pen that matched the pink in my flowers and then sprinkled clear embossing powder. That gave them a cool wet look.

The Hessian Patch Panel behind the tree and photo is one of my favorite pieces. 

It adds such interesting texture. I originally had it on there raw but then decided it needed color, 

so I mixed some green gelatos with water and painted the parts showing with a paintbrush.

"#Hashtag Selfie Fail"

I made this page for CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration using the Case File below.

My friend Tracee was visiting me from the UK two summers ago,  and we happened upon this "Friends" sign at a craft store.  I immediately took out my camera to take a selfie of us,  not realizing the sign was backwards.  When we realized, we nearly peed our pants laughing  and promptly took a proper selfie, but the moment deserved to be documented,  and of course 2Crafty had the perfect title in their Selfies Word Pack.  I added "Fail" with a felt alphabet from my stash and bam! I had the perfect title!

The 2Crafty Circle Frames were perfect for framing these wacky pictures 

and helped me mimic the circular photos in the sketch from the Case File. 

The Small Film Strips helped to reinforce the photo theme of my page.

I coated all my chipboard pieces with black embossing powder.
