Adore | Paper Issues Kit

I made this page a while back, I think before Farzad was hospitalized, and I never got around to sharing it. I made it for my friend who lost both her cats within a year of each other.

I used an old Paper Issues kit called "Blue Ain't Your Color," plus a few things from my stash. Here are some details.

Those rhinestone things have been in my stash forever. I thought I'd dust them off.

Loved | Paper Issues 30 Days of Sketches - Sketch 25

 I finally finished all 30 sketches! However, I'm SO behind on posting them, so I'm doing some quick blog posts to catch up. Here's my page for Sketch 25:

Here's the sketch. I followed the basic design but had to use fewer photos because my pictures were oriented differently, plus I scrap 8 x 8.

Here are a few closeups.  I'm the worst kit hoarder, so I made a decision to try to use kits on as many of these sketch layouts as I could. I used Paper Issues' August 2019 "You Should See Me in a Crown" kit.

As I was thinking about those circles, I remembered that I had a bag of raw chipboard circles from eons ago. I used my circle punch and just glued the circles to the chipboard for added dimension. I still have a TON more of those circles, but I'm glad to have used a few on this layout.

The leaves were fussy cut out of a Paige Evan paper in the kit.

After I had everything laid out, I decided the background looked to stark white, so I added some watercolor in matching colors.

This Is Us | Paper Issues 30 Days of Sketches - Sketch 22

As I said in my last post, I finally finished all 30 sketches! However, I'm really behind on posting them, so I'll do some quick blog posts. Here's my page for Sketch 22:

The sketch, which I pretty much followed, even though it looks a little different because that title is ginormous on my 8 x 8 page.

Loved that little pencil and I thought it looked cute with the thread bow. I was hoping it looked like the title was handwritten with that pencil. I dragged out an old border punch on this one.

Sparkle Girl {Paper Issues Kit}

Did you know that in addition to all the free cut files and all the latest and greatest scrapbooking supplies, Paper Issues also has a monthly kit? They actually have two kits--a full-blown kit and the "swag bag," which is like a mini kit with a delicious little taste of different scrappy supplies. I used the June kit called Pontoon, along with the Thickers title that came in the May Fishin' in the Dark kit. How fun that Cassie names her kits after songs. If you don't know that Pontoon song, you must go check it out.

So here are some details. The inspiration for my page design came from Heather Shank's amazing layout. I love those cute little pigeons in the kit and that paper with the speech bubbles, which I fussy cut. 

How fun are the thickers? Love the holographic look they have. I love this picture of my friend's daughter, and I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to scrap it. I decided to go with the purples in the kit to highlight the photo. and added some turquoise in the horizontal scalloped border to match her scarf.

I love, love, love the Bella Blvd Florence alphas. At the last minute, I added some sequins from my stash and that cute little chipboard car that came in the kit. It was the perfect finishing touch, I think.
