Love 4Ever {CSI Case File No. 34}

We have a fun new Case File this week at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration:

I must say, these colors were tricky! I had to dig deep into my stash, but I love to do that and discover things I might not have thought of using at first.

I made another page for Monica's book. I was actually on this trip with Monica and James. We went up to Michele's (Monica's mom and my best friend) hometown to bury her Aunt Mildred, who had recently passed away, and we visited the Kinzua Bridge. These pictures were taken on that bridge. I grabbed them off of Monica's Facebook page. The top photo had the word LOVE printed on it, which I toned down a little with my digital editing software, as it was originally an electric hot pink--more toward a fuchsia.

I worked for two whole days on this page. You know how when you get a vision in your head and it just doesn't translate onto paper? Yeah, that's what happened here. I'm not happy with how my page turned out, but I'm hoping Monica will love it and remember it as one of James's bucket list items he was able to check off before he died.

Clues I used to solve this Case File: Evidence: stripes, ribbon, wave shape, fringe; Evidence: The 5 W's.

Here are some closeups. For the light blue in The Scheme, I used some blue vellum, which, against white, was an almost perfect match. This silver heart charm came from an old necklace. The background paper I used is by My Mind's Eye.

The salmon color proved to be hard to find. I was searching through my papers and these flowers caught my eye from a Crate Paper paper. I added some layers. That black doily is cut from a die by Die-namics. The blue circle paper is by Little Yellow Bicycle. Whenever blue shows up in our palettes, I start with LYB--they seem to make a lot of blue paper.

I had these photo facts stamped on kraft paper leftover from a class I took with Ali Edwards years ago and finally got to use them. The heart clip is by Making Memories, and I added a rhinestone to it.

The green textured paper is really old--came from a Provo Craft pad, and it was the perfect green--has sparkly silver patterns on it. I used a dictionary page that says "forever" on it. I tore the dictionary page and added a layer of border punch for the wavy shape part of the evidence.

I was looking for another layer to add, and I found this old circular journaling spot from Luxe Designs that I knew I'd never use for journaling because it's way too large for my 8 x 8 pages, so I just used it as another layer. I added some light blue liquid pearls. I'd love it if someone could tell me how to make them come out with the little pointy peaks!

The design team and guest designers did a fabulous job solving this challenging Case File. Come check it out! And I hope you'll play along.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and reading about my page!

IKWYM when the idea just WON'T 'translate'...so very, very frustrating...I only know how to make liquid pearls without the peak...& that's to gently bang your paper after you've adhered--helps them 'spread'.. bit like baking cookies before putting them in the oven...can't help with making peaks, tho...sozzy:( LOVE that locket heart...looks perfect:):):)

Try not to touch the paper with the perfect pearls, squeeze gently and pull up quickly. Practice on a spare bit of paper, its a bit like icing a cake apparently!!! have fun xx
