#Awesome Kid {Paper Issues Swanky Swatches Challenge}

I'm on the Paper Issues blog today with another fun challenge! Here's my post:

 Hey, everyone! I'm here with another layout I created for one of my students.

The challenge was to use this gorgeous color scheme:

In addition to the colors, I was inspired by the image to use watercolors. I also wanted to mimic the changing look of the seascape as the water moves by layering lots of stamps and ink. The circle of the umbrella led me to choose some circular stamps, and that scripty writing led me to search for a scripty word in the Paper Issues free cut files. I used lots of old stash along with some newer items.  The star stamp and numbers in clrcles are from the Fancy Pants Take Note stamp set, which is available in the shop.

These awesome red letters and hearts are the new Bella Blvd Florence alphas, which come in a rainbow of colors. I used McIntosh.

I got the scripty title from the Hashtag Girl Squad free cut file:

I had to find something playful to go on my page, and I found these cute dinosaurs on a paper from BasicGrey's old Archaic collection in my stash.

These colors are so pretty together, especially with the addition of black, which adds wonderful contrast. I hope you'll come play along with this or many of the other challenges at Paper Issues. Be sure to add your creation to the Facebook group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.

In the meantime, hop over to Paper Issues and check out all the free cut files and all the new stuff in the store. Please use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire order! How awesome is that?

I love the background work on this one, Debbi. The bit of watercolour, layered with all those stamps, gives your page a mixed media look that is so interesting to look at. I love the punch of red. The little dinosaur makes it yours. Great job. I love it!
