Oh Yeah! | Bramble Fox Stash Smash Challenge

It's my turn on the Bramble Fox blog today! Here's my post:

I jumped wholeheartedly into the July Stash Smash challenge, which was to use stamps or rub-ons, because I have a gazillion stamps. I managed to use nine of them on this 8 x 8 layout. And I found the perfect super-fun Perspextive from the July Fox Box to go with this silly photo of my grand-nephew and my brother-in-law.

To start my page, I added watercolor ink in turquoise and green to match the papers I wanted to use. I've been dying to use those chickens from a My Mind's Eye patterned paper, and I thought they were a great match for the Perspextive title I wanted to use. I then layered various background stamps over the painted cardstock.

After layering up my papers and adding my chickens, I looked for a few more things in my stash to embellish. I added some die cut elements--the grid and plus signs. I found a lovely heart Perspextive from the Fancy Hearts collection to perfectly match the title. Many thanks to Julie for the clip stamp--it was great that it's in French because these folks live in Paris! The "Happy Days" tab was cut from the branding strip of the chicken paper. I always save those because you never know when they might come in handy.

This was a really fun layout to create, and I'm so pleased that I used so many stamps on my page, some that I had never used before. I hope you'll play along. Here's the challenge. Note that the topic is a suggestion and is optional. I hope you'll play along. You may just win a prize to get some of these beautiful Perspextives!

Add your creation to the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook group. I can't wait to see what you'll make!

Summer Smiles {Bramble Fox Stash Smash Challenge}

[ad] I love using up older supplies and combining them with newer stuff! Bramble Fox has a monthly Stash Smash challenge to encourage us to do just that! Here's what I made for this month's challenge, which was to use inks and paints.

Here are some details. I used a Perspextives from the June Fox Box on my page. I love the Fox Box! You get a nice assortment of Perspectives, plus some exclusive pieces.

Seriously! How fun are those sunglasses? For the challenge, I used watercolor in the background and lots of stamps so I could use ink. How fun is that little crab?! It's a stamp by Cocoa Daisy, and the bubbles came from the same set.

That cool clear sun is another Perspextive, from the Sunny Days set. The sailboat and starfish are from  the same Cocoa Daisy stamp set. The stamp that looks like fishnet is an old Kaisercraft background stamp.

I decided since this was a stashbusting challenge that I should use old papers. The circles are from an ancient A2Z paper. The blue check is an old Scenic Route paper, and the red ledger paper is, I believe, Rusty Pickle. The wooden anchor is a piece I picked up at Michaels a couple of years ago.

Here's the challenge. You've got a few more days to play, for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Bramble Fox store. The topic is optional. So grab your inks and paint and get playing!

Favorite Hair Place {Bramble Fox Stash Smash Challenge}

I made this page for the current Stash Smash challenge over at Bramble Fox.

Here's the April challenge. Every month, the Stash Smash challenge gives a topic and something from your stash to you.

Here are some details. How beautiful is that shiny silver Perspextive? It was in the April Fox Box, but you can also buy it separately.

When I set out to scrap these photos from my visit to my favorite hair salon, Alter Ego, I remembered this Felicity Jane kit that had the girl with the big curly hair. It turned out to be perfect for the colors in my pictures.

As you can see, I stitched through my title and the borders and added some tangled thread behind the photos. How gorgeous is that gold bow? It's from the Glitzy and Glamour set. The star that I added to the bottom title is also a silver Perspextive.

I hope you'll come play in our monthly Stash Smash challenges.  You might win a gift certificate to buy some of these beautiful products!

Things I Am Loving Right Now {CSI & Bramble Fox}

CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration and Bramble Fox teamed up in March. They're donating a gift certificate to a lucky CSI player. I used Bramble Fox products on all three of my March CSI layouts. For this one, I combined our Cold Case File with Bramble Fox's Stash Smash challenge, a monthly challenge that gives you a prompt and some old stash to use. For this month, the prompt was to document something you love and to use clips. Here's what I came up with:

Here's the Case File:

The Scene found at Urban Comfort blog.

Here are some details. The star of my bottom left corner is a Perspextive piece by Bramble Fox. I have a bunch of those old Jenni Bowlin butterflies in my stash, and I was glad to use a couple of them on my page. I don't know why I never used them, they're really pretty. The clip is from Rebecca Sower's Nostalgique Attic Collection--Remember those? I used a bunch of old 7gypsies and Rusty Pickle papers on my page. That journaling spot on the left is part of a 7Gypsies tag.

I've got my embellishment drawers labeled alphabetically, and when I was looking for clips, I came across the drawer I labeled clasps. I have no idea if that's what that thing with the string is called, but it was in that drawer. The clip in this quadrant is by BasicGrey. One of the clues was flashcards, that piece of a card that says "adore" just happened to be sitting on my desk. Sometimes it pays to have a messy desk! That strip of hearts was also sitting on my desk. One of the clues was to use patterns or embellishments with text or numbers. I used a lot of that clue, and the numbers clue prompted me to use that domino.

There's another Jenni Bowlin butterfly. I used some super-old rub-on letters that I almost got rid of (the ones that say "right now"), and I'm glad I didn't because I like the way they look. The red chipboard letters are Heidi Swapp. I truly think I have a lifetime supply of her chipboard letters. I'm not joking. After I put this layout together, I decided I should've printed my photo bigger, but I'm cheap like that and didn't want to waste the ink.

That clock is by Maya Road. I used a library pocket to hold my journaling, which is written on two 7gypsies tags. That green tag is a clothing tag. I always save interesting tags and don't often use them, but I thought this one worked well here.

Here are the things I wrote. Just random things going on in my life that I'm loving at this particular moment in the history of my life. I always say I'm going to do these kinds of layouts more frequently, and I rarely do. I think it'll be fun ten years down the road to look back and see what I was doing in February of 2019.

There are only a few days left to solve this or one of our other challenges at CSI. I hope you'll play along. You may just win some of the awesome Bramble Fox goodies or a prize from one of our other awesome sponsors.

Fill the Jar {Bramble Fox Stash Smash Challenge}

I recently was invited to join the Bramble Fox design team, so you'll be seeing lots of their beautiful products on my scrapbook pages. It's my turn on the Bramble Fox blog today. Here's my post:

Hey, Bramble Fox Friends! Debbi here with my first blog post as a design team member. I'm so excited to be a part of this team, working with these beautiful Bramble Fox products. One thing to know about me as a scrapper is that I scrap 8 x 8 pages, so the products will look larger than they would on a 12 x 12 page.

I fell in love with these jars from the Jar of Hearts set as soon as I opened my box! And then when I saw this month's Stash Smash challenge, I knew exactly what I'd do with them.

The Stash Smash challenge has two parts: a topic to scrap and some stash to use up. For this month, here's the challenge:
  • Topic: Goals/Hopes & Dreams
  • Stash: Die-cuts, Stickers & Chipboard
I'm on a very long weight-loss journey, and I have two jars with stones. When I lose a pound, I move a stone to my pounds lost jar (if I gain a pound, I have to move it back). I've lost 44 pounds, and I have a lot more to go, so my goal this year is documented on this page.

For the stash part of the challenge, I decided to use up a bunch of die cuts from the Pinkfresh Studio Let Your Heart Decide collection. I thought the colors really complemented the color of the jars. The jars come with red hearts, but since the red didn't match my color scheme, I used some puffy hearts from the collection instead and saved my red Bramble Fox hearts for a future layout.

I also used the banner word from Celebrate Today Perspextives pack.

Check out the beautiful detail on the top of this jar! Such a gorgeous product, and so versatile too. You'll definitely want to buy more than one set!

I hope you'll come play in this stash busting challenge. Add your creation to the February Stash Smash album by February 28. One lucky person will win a £10 voucher to spend in store. You can enter as many times as you like. I can't wait to see what you make!
