Unicorn | 30 Days of Sketches - Day 5

So I'm sure you've heard by now: Paper Issues is trying to keep up our spirits during this COVID-19 shut-in by giving us 30 sketches for 30 days. I'm going to try to do all of them! Here's my layout for Day 5:

And here's the sketch I used.

Here are some details. I used this fun FREE cut file from Paper Issues called Gumdrop Background. I used the eraser tool to get rid of a few of the columns of gumdrops and made them a little wider. Then I backed it with the rainbow-striped paper from Simple Stories Dream Big collection. About a month ago, I was rearranging some drawers and came across this sheet of unused raw chipboard letters, and I'm sure they were unused because they're so big for my 8 x 8 pages, but they were irritating me, so I'm on a mission to use them up. I've used them on a couple of pages so far, and I'm sure you'll be seeing them again soon. I was able to get them colored pretty close to the pink in the Dream Big collection by coating them with gesso and painting them with some Tim Holtz stamp ink mixed with water.

I was going to make my own tags using patterned paper from the collection, and I went to my tag drawers to find a tag to trace. My drawer labeled "metal-rimmed tags" caught my eye, and I fund this giant stash of colorful tags that sort of matched the colors, and I decided to go for it. They weren't the right shape, but I just clustered five of them and left the strings on for fun and then added some Nuvo Drops.

And of course I had to use the chipboard unicorn and rainbow to finish off my page!

I hope you'll come join our challenge. If you like the Dream Big collection, there are several pieces the Paper Issues store. Please use my code Debbi (no e on the end) and you'll get 20% off of everything in the store, every single day!

She Speaks Unicorn | Paper Issues This or That Challenge

I love all the challenges we have at Paper Issues. Here's my latest page I made, for the This or That challenge.

The way This or That works is you pick one thing or the other from the two columns.

No photo description available.

Here are some details. I used Simple Stories Dream Big collection. I saw my friend's daughter's shirt in this picture and knew I had to use the unicorn from this collection. I realized after the fact that I shouldn't have used that sticker on the unicorn because it has hearts, and I had chosen stars. Oops! I was going to try to make a pinwheel for this layout, but then I saw that flag on the sticker sheet and had to use it. How fun is that chipboard banner?

I used some old BasicGrey letters. I think I have every set ever made, which means I have every color of the rainbow! I love the way the pop dots lift up the stars.

I was happy to see washi tape as an option because I have so darn much washi tape, and I always forget to use it!

I hope you'll come give this challenge a try!Be sure to share your creation in our Facebook Group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. Happy You're in My Class {Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday Challenge}

I'm still making pages for my students. I'm running down to the wire, so I'm having to make some pages quick, and Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday challenge is a great way to do that!

Here's Olivia's gorgeous page we got to scraplift:

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling

I used Simple Stories Dream Big collection for my page. The "happy" word is from Maggie Holme's carousel, but I thought it went perfectly with this collection.

Those chipboard frames are ancient--by Making Memories.

I used a stencil with texture paste instead of the watercolor like Olivia used.

I hope you'll join this or the tons of other challenges open at Paper Issues. Post your creations in our Facebook group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. There are still lots of elements from this beautiful Pinkfresh Collection. Please Use my code, Debbi (no e on the end) and you'll get 20% off your entire purchase!

Bloom {Bramble Fox}

I recently made this layout using the beautiful bloom piece from the March Bramble Fox Fox Box.

Here are some details. Isn't that Perspextive so pretty? I used the Fab-YOU-lous Florals free cut file from Paper Issues. I decided to lift everything off the page with pop dots for a light and airy touch of magic.

The flowers, houses, and butterflies are all fussy cut from Simple Stories Dream Big collection. I added some gems to the butterfly wings for extra magic and sparkle.

How sweet is that little fairy. This is such a perfect collection for little girls.
