Sweet Shades | Bramble Fox

I totally forgot to blog about this page I made for Bramble Fox last month!

I used Paper Issues Sunbeams Stitching Background free cut file. The gorgeous mirror-finished Perspextives are from a set called Cool Sunnies by Bramble Fox, and I loved them so much I ordered another set.

This picture of me with my new favorite sunglasses was perfect to use for these Perspextives. I promise I didn't buy the glasses with this in mind! Most of the stuff on this page is from Dear Lizzy's Here and Now collection, but I did add a few things from my stash, like the yellow flower charm and the pink rhinestones. I made a tag out of a scrap of paper.

The foliage was fussy-cut from one of the Here & Now papers. Those yellow glittery Thickers are pretty old. I love the fun font and wish I had bought a second set. Isn't the mirror finish on that title divine?

I love all the motifs in this Dear Lizzy collection that includes these pretty lanterns and flamingos.

Love You | Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday

I love Paper Issues' Scraplift Sunday challenge because it lets me try out other scrappers' styles. Here's my most recent page for this challenge:

Here is Kelly's gorgeous layout we got to lift:

I've been wanting to use this cut file, and now was the perfect chance. I loved the way the stripes looked behind the cut file. I almost wanted to use the same paper but I didn't want to totally copy, so I dug through my stash and found Dear Lizzy's Lovely Day collection that had some colorful stripes. I found an old raw chipboard frame which I colored with a gray Pitt Pen.

The title words are by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. They're the same ones Kelly used. I didn't have any stickers from the Dear Lizzy collection, so I fussy cut the flowers and houses. I outlined the inside of the cut file with a black pen, which is something I've been doing a lot lately. It really makes the cut file stand out, I think.

I really wanted to use a ticket like Kelly did because I have a gazillion tickets, but they just looked too large here for my 8 x 8 page.

The cut file is a FREE one at Paper Issues called Heart Waterfall. While you're over at Paper Issues checking out all the hundreds of awesome FREE cut files, be sure to look at all the awesome new goodies in the shop. Please use my discount code Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off of everything in the store, including kits, every single day! And be sure to play along with this or one of the many challenges over at Paper issues because you may just win a gift certificate to the shop!

Makes Me Smile | Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday

I love Paper Issues' Scraplift Sunday challenge because it lets me try out other scrappers' styles. Here's my most recent page for this challenge:

Here's the beautiful layout by Anna Ekman that we got to lift:

I used Dear Lizzy's She's Magic collection, plus a few odds and ends from my stash, like the colorful brads that I thought went well with this colorful collection. The yellow fringe is super-old Doodlebug Frills.

The stickers in this collection have a pretty shimmer to them.

Some of the stickers also have an iridescent silver foiling on them.

I hope you'll come play along. This was a fun layout to lift, and my layout came together pretty fast. Be sure you enter your layout in the Facebook group for your chance to win a gift certificate to the shop. Speaking of the shop, there are all sorts of new goodies. And whenever you shop at Paper Issues, please use my discount code Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off of everything in the store, including kits, every single day!

Wakes Up Modeling | Paper Issues 30 Days of Sketches - Day 20

I'm racing like crazy to finish all 30 Days of Sketches at Paper Issues. Here's my page for Day 20:

The sketch:

And some details. I thought the colors of Dear Lizzy's She's Magic were perfect for these sweet photos. The stickers in this collection have a beautiful shimmer, but they're tricky to photograph in bright sun.

I added some old Heidi Swapp bling strips and some other stickers from my stash.

And I dusted off an old border punch.

I hope you'll come join our challenge. If you decide to buy something at the Paper Issues store (there's still lots more elements from this Dear Lizzy collection), please use my discount code Debbi (no e on the end) and you'll get 20% off of everything in the store, every single day!

Love You | Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday

It's Sunday, and that means it's Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues! One of my favorite challenges and perfect for when you are just stuck. I'm making layouts for each of my 29 students, and at the time I'm writing this blog post, I've completed 28, and have one more to go.

Here's Lou's awesome page I scraplifted.

Here are some details. I was saving this fun thumbs-up hand for this sweet girl's page, so I primarily used Dear Lizzy's It's All good collection, plus a few bits from my stash. I love that sparkly yellow alpha. It's so fun and playful, and perfect for kid pages. It's an older pack of Thickers. Lucky for me, I bought two packs.

Most of the things I used to fill the rectangles are from the Dear Lizzy collection. I added a wood veneer bird and a fabric brad.

Most of my pages have lots of detail filling up the page, and my page was looking a little plain compared to the others I made for my students, so I decided to add borders to the top and bottom. The yellow floral piece is an old Doodlebug Frills. I added Nuvo Drops at the end. They're such a fun touch!

I hope you'll come join our challenges. We have loads of them--you're sure to find a few that strike your fancy. AND there's always a gift certificate up for grabs every month!

You should stop by the Paper Issues shop, check out all the new goodies, and please use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire order!

A Treat | CSI March Cold Case No. 315

I love CSI's Cold Case Files because they encourage me to dig deep into my stash. Here's my page for our March Cold Case, another layout I made to give to one of my students.

Here are the Case File and clues:

I used these clues: papers matching the color scheme, retro papers, jars, buttons, old metal embellishments, string, magic number 3 (the stencil), and October Afternoon papers.

Here are some details. When I saw The Scene, I knew I wanted to use these old jars cut out of  paper from the old Lucky Charm collection by Dear Lizzy. I added a button as a clue and tied an old heart charm onto the jar with string (two more clues). Those fun polka dot letters were the perfect color. I've had them in my stash forever and never opened them.

I wanted to add some butterflies to my page and found a paper by Making Memories to cut some out. The little shelves I made for the jars to sit on is from an old October Afternoon paper, as are the giant doily patterns.

I made tags out of some papers from the Dear Lizzy collection. The stencil in the background, which I used with yellow stamp ink, was the third in my box (for the magic number clue).

I hope you'll come play with us! This is such a fun challenge and a great opportunity to dig into your stash! And who knows...you may win a prize from one of our eight generous sponsors this month!

Say What? | CSI Cold Case No. 296 and Paper Issues Free File Free-for-All Challenge

I made this page for our September Cold Case, which is our stash-busting challenge, and cut files are always a great way to make older stash look more updated, so I played along with Paper Issues Free File Free-for All challenge too.

Here are the Case File and clues. From the clues, I chose ledger paper, Dear Lizzy paper, magic number 56 (I landed on this old sheet of Scenic Route chipboard), envelopes/pockets, older labels, buttons, and backing a cut file.

Here are some details. I made this page for a friend. There was this fun picture of her son, along with a conversation that happened in the store, and I just copied that conversation and tucked it into this little polka dotted pocket.

I thought these little robot dies would be a fun addition, and I popped some googly eyes for a playful touch.

These chipboard phrases are by Scenic Route. I really miss that company! The papers I used are Dear Lizzy Saturday collection.

How awesome is this cut file? It's called Say Something and it's totally FREE in the Paper Issues shop! The speech bubbles come patterned or plain, like I used:

I hope you'll come play along in both of these challenges! CSI has 6 generous sponsors donating prizes this month, and Paper Issues will award a gift certificate to a lucky player!

While you're over at the Paper Issues store checking out all the free cut files, check out all their new products! Use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire purchase!
