Cool Kid | Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday Challenge

Schools are closed for a couple of weeks because of the coronavirus, so I've got some extra time to play in my scrap room, which means I get to play in some of my favorite challenges at Paper Issues--Scraplift Sunday. Here's my latest page, made as a gift for one of my fourth grade students.

Here's Devra's awesome layout we got to scraplift.

Here are some details. I dug through my paper pads in search of a boy collection and found Carta Bella's Boy Oh Boy collection. I used BasicGrey chipboard letters and old Pink Paislee alphas for my title. I found that awesome Studio wood veneer speech bubble in my stash that was perfect.

I have a thing for monsters, and I fussy cut them from one of the papers and added googly eyes. The labels are old October Afternoon labels. I tend not to use them because most of the papers I like to use have a white base, but the papers in the Boy Oh Boy collection have an off-white base. I added some more wood veneer--a heart, ampersand, and tiny stars. And of course Nuvo drops, which are now a favorite supply.

I used acrylic-paint-tinted texture paste and an AALL & Create stencil.

I hope you'll come play in this or one of the many other challenges at Paper Issues. You could win a gift certificate! And if you shop at the store, please use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire purchase!

Autumn Joy | Bramble Fox

I'm up on the Bramble Fox blog today! Here's my post:

Hey, everyone! Fall is in full swing here in the United States, and the title pieces from the November Fox Box are perfect for documenting all those wonderful autumn outings. I created this 8 x 8 page for a friend's trip to the pumpkin patch with her twins.

I used Carta Bella's lovely Fall Market collection to make my layout. I roughed up the edges of my paper and tilted it to give the feel of the bouncy hayride.

How beautiful is the script font on the "joy" Perspextive title piece?

The wreath on this layout is a free cut file from Paper Issues that I backed with some of the patterned papers in Fall Market collection along with other papers from my stash. Sometimes I leave the vinyl coating on the Perspextives, like I did here, which makes the color more muted to go with the papers I used.

I just love these sweet Bramble Fox heart Perspextives! They're perfect for adding to clusters of embellishments.

I hope I've given you some inspiration for using the beautiful Bramble Fox Perspextives. We love seeing what you do with the products, so please be sure to share your work in our Facebook group.

4th Grade All-Star {Paper Issues Keep It Sketchy}

Last year I thought it would be fun to create a layout for each of my students, and I had a blast, so I'm doing it again!

I created this for the Paper Issues Keep It Sketchy challenge, using this sketch:

No automatic alt text available.

Here are some details. I used the Star Background free cut file from Paper Issues. I used the Carta Bella Boy Oh Boy collection and backed all the open stars. I added a few Studio Calico wood veneer stars to some of the solid stars. They were the perfect shape! Once I backed all the stars with patterned paper, I mounted the cut file onto my background cardstock using pop dots.

I used a mix of old letters for my title--4th on the Jenni Bowlin label is American Crafts, grade is BasicGrey, and all-star is AC Thickers.

The baseball is a cut file from the Silhouette store, and the flair badge is by A Flair for Buttons.

I love challenges, and Paper Issues always has a ton of really fun ones! I had fun creating this page, and I'm looking forward to making the other 21 pages for my students!
